About Daily Cloudt

DailyCloudt.com is a globally-scalable platform to support citizen-driven democracy and debate. It uses the power of the Internet to leverage people's agendas for the change they want to make in their own lives and communities. It gives anyone power to become a journalist, an opinion leader, a powerful lobbyist, a drafter of legislation, and/or the founder of a political movement. It is completely nonpartisan. We are a group of diverse citizens who came together to start DailyCloudt, com because we were fed up with how non-transparent our political process is, how narrow the debate can be, and how powerless many people feel in a democracy that they are meant to be leading.

DailyCloudt.com empowers you by giving you tools.

FIRST, you can go to the DailyCloudt.com Legislative Search Engine. We call it the "News Factory." This is where our leaders are trying to pass bills. You can search any bill by issue, and join the conversation to learn about or explain what a bill really means.

SECOND. you can submit an op-ed (opinion piece) of 800 words to our global, citizen-led op ed and news page, Citizens Voice. The 'Submit" page shows you how. If we can take your op-ed, it will be edited by professionals and sent back for your review. Once you give us the thumb's up, you will be published on our front page. This is your chance to call attention to a problem, express a personal experience that is tied to a larger issue, tell a truth, document an abuse, share an analysis, and call for action. You can share your op ed with your networks. The top citizens' op eds may soon be streamed onto other major news sites. The mission here is to support any citizen anywhere in the world in raising his or her voice and defining the agenda. We also are proud to provide a rare opportunity -- a platform for truly transpartisan, civil debate in a setting in which the gatekeepers have often hijacked discussion. We

also want to support citizen-generated news and train people in basic journalism so that along with op eds, we run video documentation and first-person citizen accounts of news events around the world. We believe this mission yields more accurate and diverse newsgathering and, when every citizen is a potential journalist or pundit, this approach also promotes leaders' accountability.

THIRD, you will be able soon to post a MEETING time and place about your issue at the bottom of your op ed, call for REGISTERED VOTERS TO SIGN UP to change the laws around your issue, CROWDSOURCE LEGISLATION with a lawyer's help to create a new bill addressing your issue, and, in 24 states, call for A REFERENDUM with your group's bill, with help from advisors. In all 50 states, you will be able to ANNOUNCE A MEETING with your Representatives' District Office to bring your issue, along with your group of registered voters and if you wish your crowdsourced or group-drafted legislation, to your Representative or to his or her staffer.  On the "My District" page you can see who writes checks to your representative. If you offer to help get out the vote for Congressional elections, depending on your Representative's support for your bill, your group will have more power than lobbyists.

FOURTH, you can post followups from your progress on Citizens' Voice.

FIFTH, you can go to Democracy U to learn from our library of video modules, Democracy 101, based on 'experts' and "ordinary" citizens alike who have succeeded at these tasks, the best and easiest ways to "do democracy": to pass a bill, run for office, raise money, run a meeting, talk to the press, and engage in free assembly. We will soon translate those modules into five languages.

The Founders of our nation wanted citizens, not gatekeepers, to run things. DailyCloudt.com is aligned with that vision. Happy taking over of the leadership role of the country!
